Charles River Media Releases "The Official Far Cry® 2 Map Editing Guide" Book

BOSTON – May 10, 2009 - Today, Charles River Media, an imprint of Course Technology PTR, announced the release of "From Gamer to Game Designer: The Official Far Cry® 2 Map Editing Guide." The book is the product of a unique partnership with Ubisoft, the publishers of Far Cry 2.

Written and edited by David Hutchison, author of “Playing to Learn: Video Games in the Classroom,” the official Far Cry 2 map editing guide draws from the disciplines of game design theory, physical geography, and military science to provide aspiring Far Cry 2 map makers and game designers with sound map making advice. The book includes contributions from the Far Cry 2 development team at Ubisoft Montreal and Far Cry 2 map makers around the world.

"This is the next milestone in gamer-generated content," says David Hutchison, Associate Professor at Brock University. "Far Cry 2 makes it easy for both PC and console gamers to create cool new multiplayer maps that they can then share with other gamers.
